This is the Transactions Index where you are able to search the contents of the transactions. Several different databases are checked and essentially provide the following details Full Index, Authors and Contents records for 1866 to 1900 and 1960 to 2008 , Limited Contents and Authors for 1901 to 1959.

You should note that the years 1866 to 1900 and 1960 to 1989 are complete and can be searched by keyword or date/volume. However at the moment 1901 - 1959 and 1990 - 2008 can only be searched by keyword but not by date/volume. Because several different overlapping databases are used, some details may appear more than once in any search. Work continues to provide a full index.

Please note that the search is only an exact search so mis-spellings will not be located. Searches may take some time to complete, especially when broad searches are used. Please be patient.

Only the index is available on-line. The CWAAS library holds many of the Transactions though not a complete set, Carlisle Library, Globe Lane, Carlisle, Cumbria, CA3 8NX, Tel 01228 227310 hold a complete set of the Transactions.

The details contained in any index or document on this page , dated prior to 2009 , may be used with an acknowledgement to the Society and to the original authors for permission to reproduce. If in doubt please contact the Society for further details.

As this data comes from optically scanning the original index there is the possibility of transcription errors. If you do find an error then please contact the webmaster on this site pointing out the particular error so it can be checked against the source documentation and corrected.

Prior to 1901 there was not one volume each year so if specifying a year the search will return the year that volume was first published.
